RFID is the abbreviation of Radio Frequency Identification, which is radio frequency identification technology, commonly known as electronic tag. According to different ways of implementation, it can be divided into: active tags and passive tags.
Active tags can provide energy without the need for a reader because of their own energy supply. The active tag itself is battery powered, with a long read/write distance and a large volume, which is more expensive than passive tags, also known as active tags. Passive tags are the energy required to get the job from the magnetic field generated by the reader. They are low cost and have a long service life. They are smaller and lighter than the active tag, and the read/write distance is closer. It is also called passive tag.
Active
rfid metal tag: large, expensive, and because of the battery, the life is relatively short Passive RFID electronic tags: small, cheap, long life
Active RFID electronic tag: Because it sends out a signal, it recognizes a long distance and recognizes a more accurate passive RFID electronic tag: it reads the electromagnetic wave emitted by the antenna and then generates a signal transmission inside the tag, so the recognition distance is relative to the active tag. It would be a lot shorter.
