How to properly maintain Motorcycle battery?

 1. When using Motorcycle battery in normal times, we nee to avoid losing electricity and try our best to store it. The state of power deficit generally means that the battery is not charged in time after use. So when the battery is deficient, it is easier to be sulfated. Lead sulfate crystals are attached to the plate and block the ion channel, which will cause insufficient charging and battery capacity decline. The longer the idle time in the power-deficient state, the more serious the battery will be damaged. When the battery is not in use, it should be charged once a month to extend the battery life.

2. Motorcycle batteries should be inspected on a regular basis. During use, if the continued mileage of the electric bicycle suddenly drops more than ten kilometers in a short period of time, it is very likely that at least one battery in the battery pack has broken grids or plates. This situation can easily lead to short-circuit phenomena such as softening, falling off of active material on the plate, etc. At this time, tens of thousands of professional battery repair organizations should promptly inspect, repair or assemble.

3. When in use, do not discharge with high current. Try to avoid instantaneous high current discharge when riding the motorcycle. High current discharge will easily lead to lead sulfate crystallization, which may damage the physical properties of the battery plate.

4. Master the charging time. Generally, the battery will be charged at night, and the average charging time is generally about 8 hours. If it is a shallow discharge and the driving range is very short after charging, the battery will be fully charged soon, and overcharging will occur if you continue to charge, which will easily cause the battery to lose water, heat, and reduce the battery. Therefore, it is the best choice to charge once with 60%-70% of the power.

5. Motorcycle batteries should be protected from high temperature exposure. Motorcycles are strictly prohibited from being exposed to the sun, because the high temperature environment will increase the internal pressure of the battery and easily cause the battery pressure limiting valve to be forced to open automatically. The direct consequence is to increase the battery's water loss. Therefore, excessive water loss of the battery will cause a decrease in battery activity, thereby accelerating the softening of the electrode plate, causing fatal damage such as heat generation, bulging, and deformation of the housing during charging.
