Can a 1 ml syringe be used to inject insulin?
Strictly speaking, it is not recommended for aspiration and injection of insulin. Because the use of a 1 ml syringe to draw any dosage form of insulin requires conversion measurement. For example, 0.1 ml of insulin in a 40 unit/ml dosage form is equivalent to 4 units, and 0.1 ml of insulin in a 100 unit/ml dosage form is equivalent to 10 units. Insulin belongs to the A-level high-risk drugs (the highest level among high-risk drugs) among the high-risk drugs announced by the American Medical Safety Association in 2009. If the medication is wrong, it will cause the risk of death to the patient. Therefore, it is not recommended to use an ordinary 1 ml syringe to inhale insulin by conversion, which will bring many safety risks to the clinic.
